Freshly peeled apple aromas on the nose, with some hints of tangerine and lemon. The palate is layered and well balanced which makes this an elegant wine with great finesse. Excellent ageing potential and superb versatility with a wide variety of dishes complete this irresistible package. The subtle use of oak (25% of the wines was barrel-fermented) helps to uplift the fruity characters of this versatile cultivar.

This wine has beautiful aromas of white peach, winter melon and quince on the nose, with whiffs of butterscotch. These aromas carry through onto a creamy palate that finishes with a lively acidity. Excellent ageing potential and superb versatility with a wide variety of dishes complete this irresistible package. This wine was fermented in 40% new French and Hungarian oak and 60% in 2nd and 3rd fill French and Hungarian 300l oak barrels.

This is a true example of a classic Chenin Blanc where the nose shows attractive aromas of tropical fruit, apricot and hints of almond. The integrated wood spices compliment the fruit and brings structure to this refined wine. A well-balanced palate with an exotic sweet-sour tang ensures a long finish and lasting aftertaste. This wine was fermented in 40% new, 40% 2nd fill and 20% 3rd fill 300 litre French oak barrels.

Intense dark red coloured. Aromas of black currant and mulberry, with an underlying cherry and fynbos nuances on the nose. These diverse aromas carry through onto a rich, velvety and complex palate supported by layers of well-rounded tannins. Gentle presence of oak on nose and palate supports this delicious Pinotage. Matured for 18 months in 25% 2nd fill, 50% 3rd fill and 25% 4th fill French oak barrels.

This dark red coloured wine has elegant red fruit aromas of cherry, strawberry and cranberry on the nose. These exquisite aromas carry through onto a rich, creamy palate where it lingers for moments after the wine exits the palate. Silky, well-integrated and elegant tannins keep this wine in perfect harmony and balance. One of our most delicate Pinotage’s in the Private Cellar range to date. Matured for 22 months in 60% French and 40% American oak barrels. A total of 40% new, 30% 2nd fill and 30% 3rd fill barrels were used for ageing.

It matured for 22 months in 60% new and 40% 2nd fill French oak barrels.

Elegance, finesse, complexity and concentration of fruit will be found in this full bodied blend of 67% Pinotage and 33% Syrah. Rich and intense red colour. Vibrant and complex nose of mulberry, dark chocolate and some hints of fynbos perfume. Pinotage adds the fruit and richness, while Syrah adds the structure and spice. The mid palette is creamy and finishes with well-rounded mature tannins. Well-integrated oak lends subtle wood spices which compliment the fruit. The Pinotage matured for 22 months in 60% French and 40% American 300 litre oak barrels, and the Syrah for 22 months in 100% French oak barrels. 50% new, 30% 2nd fill and 20% 3rd fill were used for maturing.

SHIRAZ Touch of Oak201411.95
This fruit driven Shiraz from the cool 2014 vintage has an intense ruby red colour with attractive plum and red fruit aromas on the nose with hints of nougat and dark chocolate. The palate is layered with flavour, has a creamy mouthfeel refined and smooth tannin on the finish. There is a gentle touch of oak on the nose and palate that compliments this delightful wine. The wine matured for 18 months in 20% 2nd fill, 45% 3rd fill and 35% 4th fill French oak barrels.

This noble wine from a great 2007 vintage shows an enchanting deep red colour and aromas of prunes, bay leaf and liquorice. There is a lively acidity with a youthful tannin structure that keeps this wine fresh and vivacious. The palate is broad, creamy and has a lasting aftertaste.

Intense deep red colour. The nose explodes with aromas of coriander, liquorice and cloves. The wine's broad mouth feel is kept fresh by beautiful refined tannins. A subtle use of oak compliments its natural character. Won a Gold Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2010.
