| 47% Chenin Blanc, 21% Grenache Blanc, 10% Viognier,
9% Roussanne 7% Palomino and 6% Semillon. The final makeup of the blend varies slightly each year, due
to the variation in vintage. Chenin Blanc is best suited to be the heart of
the wine and that is why it forms the biggest portion of the
co-fermentation. The aromas are very complex and change
considerably in the glass. Perfume, spice, tea, stone fruit and
citrus blossoms are some of the notes that can be detected.
In the mouth the texture and ripeness and gentle tannins
result in a wine that has incredible length and a complex
flavour profile. Matured in very old wood. |

Cinsault and Tinta Barocca. The wine
is
pressed into
old
4000L
vats
and 8%

casks for a maturation period of 16 months. This vintage will be quite reserved in its youth but will mature very well and
evolve
into its potential. The tannins are prominent, well-integrated and refreshing.
The aromas are brooding but with complex notes of pepper, liquorice, perfume,
and black cherries.
The palate entry is quite
dense with lavender
and dark berry fruit. The finish is dry with
well spread tannins ending with savoury and
black
currant. |

vineyard was planted in
1952
on decomposed granite soils. It is said that this is the oldest Grenache vineyard
in South Africa. The vineyard
has an energy and presence about it while the
vines are magnificent and low bearing. The
soils are beautifully reflected in the wine
with grainy, grippy tannins. Delicate, pure aromas lead to a palate with deep, intense fruit & serious tannin-acid structure. Potential for long development with only little wood influence. |

The Allesverloren vineyards creep up the imposing Kasteelberg in the picturesque Riebeek Valley of the Swartland, the vineyards ranging from 170m above sea level to well over 350m. The farm which dates back to 1704 began producing wine in 1804. |

for the Certified Heritage Vineyards (CHV) seal and forms part of the Old Vine

The nose has expressions of red fruits, hints of grilled fenneland wafts of tobacco and cigar box which fill the glass. The palate has great texture and finesse and this vintage is offering great drinkability already. After malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine went into 50% new French oak barrels for 18 months. Blend consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon 67%, Merlot 21% and 12% Cabernet Franc. Accessible now but will reward careful cellaring over the next 10 to 15 years. |

Aromas of cassis, lavender, cedarwood, cigar
box on the first approach. As the wine breaths
it shows more creme de cassis and black
berries evolving into a complex aroma of sweet spices and a
lovely savoury element. The palate is rich and concentrated
with intensity and structure. Tannins are firm,
but well structured and will allow the wine to
age gracefully over the next 5 to 10 years.
Decant for a few hours if you want this wine to
show its true colours. 55% Cabernet Franc, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon & 3% Merlot. The wine matured in French oak barrels (55% new,
2% third fill and 42% forth fill) for a period of
