Beautifully layeared and harmonious with the fruit ideally supported and gramed by sympathetic oak. Nothing is overplayed or dominant. Refined and elegant throughout. Distell

Once the Marula fruit is perfectly sun-ripened, each one is gently hand-gathered. First, the fruit is de-stoned, its flesh crushed and the pulp fermented. After fermentation, the Marula ‘wine’ is distilled and aged in French oak barrels for at least two years, during which wood spice characters of vanilla and toast are naturally imparted. Thereafter dairy cream is infused to give Amarula its rich, velvety texture. Only then this little piece of Africa is bottled. Amarula is best served over ice and preferably, with a view.

This Viognier is a “Lady of Spice”. Perfumed with exotic aromas of jasmine, lavender, grapefruit and hints dried apricot and white peach that balms the air before the full bodied character is slowly revealed and supported by a linear balanced acidity. On the pallet is white peach and quince flavours and traces of creamy lemon butter, nutmeg, ginger and vanilla with a flinty mineral finish.This Viognier does well with all things surrounding the orient. It has a particular affinity with rosemary. 100% fermented in wood of which 56% was new and a split of 33% Hungarian oak and 67% French oak.

We have been refining the viticulture to produce more balanced, flavourful fruit. This, coupled with the perfect conditions of 2015 has produced our best Merlot yet.
